November 2013 Newsletter
This month's CLE and bar luncheon will take place on November 27, 2013, in the Hotel St. Michael's Ballroom. The menu choices are a Chicken Salad Sandwich or a Vegetarian Sandwich, both served with potato salad. Please RSVP by 5:00pm on November 21st.
Arizona Supreme Court Justice Robert M. Brutinel will be presenting the CLE this month, which should qualify for one hour of CLE credit. We don't yet have the name of the CLE presentation or know whether it will qualify for ethics, but I'll send that information out shortly. Regardless of the topic, Justice Brutinel is an engaging and dynamic speaker with strong ties to Yavapai County, and his CLE presentation should be of interest to all members of the bar.
Additionally, the results are in for the 2014 YCBA board election. Sharon Flack was elected President, Karyn Osterman- Vice President, Eric English- Secretary, and Jonathan Conant- Treasurer. When you see them, please take a moment to thank them for their willingness to volunteer their time to serve our organization.
The recipient of the 2013 Harold J. Wolfinger Award will be Nick Moceri, and Judge Kenton Jones will receive the 2013 Jack L. Ogg Award. Both awards will be presented at the annual Holiday Party, scheduled for 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, December 6th, 2013 in the Hotel St. Michael's Ballroom. As always, all YCBA members and a guest are encouraged to attend the Holiday Party. As always, we will be accepting new, unwrapped toys for donation to the Toys for Tots program. The Holiday Party will take the place of a bar luncheon in December. The next bar lunch wil be in January 2014, and our newly elected President, Sharon Flack, will be emailing details about that event at a later date.
If you have not done so already, please fill out the attached membership renewal form for 2014 (which will allow us to keep your contact information up to date) and bring it along with your $125 dues to this month's bar lunch, or mail them to:

Finally, I'd like to thank all of the YCBA members for allowing me to serve on the board over the last four years, including a term as President in 2013. In 2013, YCBA provided our members with 10.5 hours of CLE including 4.75 hours of ethics CLE, while keeping membership dues unchanged at $125.00. I've enjoyed getting to know many of you, and look forward to serving on the YCBA board for one final year in 2014 as the President Emeritus. As always, if you have any questions, complaints or suggestions about YCBA events, please let me or another board member know.
